About Jennie Dear
Jennie Dear is a writer in Durango, Colorado. Dear received her undergraduate degree in the history of ideas from Williams College, and reported for small-town newspapers in Tennessee, Kentucky, and New Zealand.
After receiving her Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico, Dear taught for ten years as an associate professor of English at Fort Lewis College in Durango. Dear and her colleague, Faron Scott, published The Responsible Journalist: An Introduction to News Reporting and Writing in 2014 (Oxford University Press). Dear’s recent book, What Does it Feel Like to Die? was released June 25th, 2019 (Kensington Publishing). Dear is currently working on a new book—with the working title, Where Do We Grow Old?—that will examine the latest thinking on the deep issues that affect where and how people live as they age.
